As usual we had our to do list for today. Gene works Monday through Wednesday so our to do list starts with Thursday. We spend Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon working on that list.
This week we have worked on the backdoor. We replaced the back door into the laundry room and had to have some work done on the threshold last fall. We never got the door painted, or the ceramic tile replaced. The tile is down and grouted except for the strip along the threshold. The inside of the door is painted and the door is back up. The outside of the door will be next weekend, hopefully.
Gene mowed on Friday for the first time in weeks. The yard looks really good considering we had no rain for 6 weeks and temperatures in the 90s. I think we are both pretty tired tonight.
I went to the garden in the middle of the day and watered and gathered tomatoes and jalapeno peppers. The green beans, first patch, are starting to bloom. The second batch is running up the trellis Gene built for peas first of the season and now for beans.
So, since the garden work was done, we did chicken chores and then made a very needed trip to Home Depot. Then home to put the back door back on the house, do a load of laundry, etc.
While doing chicken chores, the hyssop plants in the pollinator garden were alive with pollinators. I planted the hyssop plant a couple or three years ago and it has spread to 3-4 plants but this is the first time I have noticed it so alive with all these pollinators.
