Everyone beware! I created Nation Split Day ten years ago and it continues. I will update at the end of the day.

I have a question: 1. Did I hit my head and miss the weekend and am back to Monday where everything goes wrong? Or

2. Is it National Split Seam Day? First the Japanese Beetle Bag from the trap that I empty every 20 hours or so because they run over the top, split on the way to be disposed of and we all know there is nothing smells better than an entire bag of hot and bothered Japanese Beetles. Second, the hose that has had a bump on it all summer, the hose I use more than any other, the hose Gene and I look at at least twice per week and say wonder when it will split and flood the yard before anyone notices, split. I did hear it before the backyard was flooded. Thirdly, I went to carry a 40 pound bag of bird seed from the car to the house, and the entire side split out of the bag and it poured into the driveway. Salvaged what I could, birds can eat in the driveway for a few days or maybe the little field mouse I caught in the basement and turned loose will find it.

So just in case it is number 2, I will not be bending over in the yard today. I have a new Schwan’s Man due anytime and nice neighbors and they do not deserve to be traumatized. The language they may have heard during the three events described above will probably make them leery for a few days already.

And I know it is all caused by this hot weather. I hate this hot weather. I would much rather have snow up to my ears than this hot muggy weather. Bring on winter. NOW.
